WHAT IS AN ARCHIVE FOR DOCUMENT SHREDDING PURPOSES?
To explain the difference between paper shredding and archive destruction, it helps to understand what is meant by an archive and by paper.
An archive is a collection of paper stored for a reason. Once there is no longer a need to keep it, the paper can be destroyed. Documents are often kept in files or other folders. Because these previously archived documents are often confidential, professional destruction is advisable. When you provide an archive with the paper still in its files, we call this archive destruction.
WHAT IS PAPER FOR PAPER SHREDDING PURPOSES?
Paper not supplied for destruction in secure blue containers, or security boxes, is classed as archive destruction. Everyday confidential paper temporarily stored in a secure blue container is therefore classed as paper shredding. Read more about our paper shredding options here.
